Feeling...

Home is where I want to be      Pick me up and turn me round       I feel numb - born with a weak heart      I guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better      Make it up as we go along       Feet on the ground      Head in the sky
It's okay I know nothing's wrong . . nothing

Hi yo I got plenty of time       Hi yo you got light in your eyes       And you're standing here beside me      I love the passing of time
Never for money      Always for love       Cover up and say goodnight . . . say goodnight

Home - is where I want to be       But I guess I'm already there      I come home - she lifted up her wings       Guess that this must be the place
I can't tell one from another       Did I find you, or you find me?
There was a time, before we were born      If someone asks, this where I'll be . . . where I'll be

Hi yo We drift in and out      Hi yo sing into my mouth     Out of all those kinds of people       You got a face with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home       Share the same space for a minute or two      And you love me till my heart stops       Love me till I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you       Cover up the blank spots       Hit me on the head Ah ooh

Inspiration comes from everywhere.  It can hit at any moment.  For me, a lot of inspiration comes from music.  The sounds whirling through airwaves and vibrating the ear drum sends my insides dancing on a magic carpet ride of motivation.  As much as I love to discover new tunes, it's really the old ones that spin round the most regularly - I'm just an 80's girl at heart, and there's no changing that!  Talking Heads have been making lots of headway lately.  This being one being a favourite! Enjoyyyyy This Must Be The Place!  It makes me think of London.. Where does is send your mind crawling?

It's funny how things align and collide at times.  I was just looking up some some photos of the Talking Heads and came across these talking heads, artwork for an album that new was.  (Which I LOVE)  It's right in line with my recent obsession for teeth, lips and mouths.. how ironic! ;)

Ears to Miilk Tooth

At the start of this month I found out my mates at Miilk Tooth released a new single.  The guys (JP & Raphael) had taken a little break from this project to pursue some other musical endeavours, but I'm pretty grooved to see them bringing back Miilk Tooth!!  Something our ears can definitely appreciate.  But don't listen to me.. go listen to them ;) and share the hyyype!

Download now the double A side 'Reprise'/The Way'.
'Reprise' is a meticulously arranged psychedelic ballad sung by Raph, whereas 'The 'Way' sung by J.P. is a straight to the point, fast-paced garage rock song.

& here's their debut single 'Desert town':

Happppppy last day of February!

Who's ready to kick off March?  I don't know about you, but I sure am ready for some springtime, my first NYC winter has been wonderful (I've loved all the snow!) but I'm pretty sure my body isn't made for this cold and it's craving some serious sunshine!!

Last weekend I was hanging out at Rough Trade and bought The Districts' new record album, A Flourish and a Spoil, and I've been listening to it non-stop all week.  They're bloody awesome.  I'd recommend checking them out on Spotify or buying the album, only 300 copies were made on purple coloured vinyl.   http://thedistrictsband.com

Guess what?! It's HERRRE! Garage Gypsy's new lookbook video for Fall/Winter 2012 has left the editing room and been released into the wild!  We've been anxiously waiting its release since we shot it in late July, and to sum it all up - we just hope you enjoy it!

I'm extremely thankful to everyone that had a hand in bringing this project to life and to LES APACHES for letting GG use their awesome new song "Little Rabbit".

the jamz.

I don't know about you, but working is at least ten times more enjoyable when you've got some good tunes washing through the airwaves. Minus Ned just released their latest album "Are We Finally Fitting In"  this October!! I have to admit I'm really feeling their latest work. There's nothing like some bluesy rock to mellow out the day and transport you into a soulful state. You can listen for yourself and purchase at http://music.minusned.com/

Here's some shots from the yardsale @Space15Twenty we hosted the weekend before last :)

A special thanks goes out to the amazing musician Jake Troth for coming out to perform a wonderful acoustic set!  Here's a little video I snapped, unfortunately I wasn't watching what I was taping, so my apologies to chopping off heads :).  Check out Jakes latest EP on itunes and on his website JAKETROTH.com You can thank me later :))

Also a special thanks to Mateo for coming out and jamming out the place!

can't get it out of my head.

And when ever that happens, I have to either listen to it again.. or get a different song stuck in my head :)

Anyway, listening to this song and watching this music video makes me truly smile. love.

video killed the radio star

[update] so I originally named this post "tv killed the radio star" and very much so on accident.  I meant to put video, I did.  This is what happens when I post too close to midnight.  My brain thinks one thing, but my fingers type another.  Anyway I've changed it, it just doesn't make sense for this post.

Last week Garage Gypsy got a little unplanned action onscreen next to Lindsey Lohan in Miggs' new music video, "Let the games begin."  It was a fun two day shoot with some awesome and talented folks. Here's some photos from behind the scenes!

A sneak peak at our wardrobe dept, where you'll find some pieces from Garage Gypsy.
And the girls behind the styling. Elise, Michelle, and myself (Justin-missing in action) posing with our "cops"!
I just discovered the new "space" effects on picnik and decided to get a little creative with the last couple photos :)  They're fun right?!  Hope y'all havin' a good night!  Stay creative now!
